PRECIOUS AFGHANISTAN:
The evening will showcase jewellery by designers including Pippa Small and Sima Vaziry.
Persian historian, Bijan Omrani will begin the evening with a journey along the Silk Road while Sophia Swire, former Senior Advisor of the Afghan Ministry of Mines Gemstone Sector, will provide guests with details about modern day lapis and emerald mining.
Guests will enjoy Afghan-inspired canapés in abundance along with live music and traditional Afghan dance.
BBC Correspondent Lyse Doucet will be attending the event and led by top model Olivia Inge, models will ditch the ordinary catwalk and rome through the audience. Celebrated fashion and film designer, Ellis Flyte is also partnering with Afghanaid for the event.
This charitable event is the innovation of Lady Bridget Cowper‐Coles, whose love of Afghan culture, fashion and design came through her travels to this magnificent country.
All proceeds from the evening will go to Afghanaid which has worked tirelessly in Afghanistan for 30 years, operating in some of the most remote and needy regions providing vital support for rural communities. www.afghanaid.org.uk
